After some years spent in several bands as guitar and bass player, I started to have my early experimentations through the use of analog pedal effects applied on the bass guitar, creating a style mostly based on a certain kind of “noise” sound. At the same time I began to develop a defined interest to the electronic music.During 2003 I approached to tekno music and had chance to perform in some rave parties. It was the decisive factor who brought me to evolve my personal project with the electronic music, going from hardcore to a more electro sound . Some years later, around 2006, I took a new way for my project, passing on ambient-noise sonorities with the intent of mixing the musical forms I had been experiencing until then. In the late months of 2007 I bought my first Gameboy lsdj card and gave birth to my micromusic project. Between 2007 and 2010 I took part in many 8bit parties in Europe and became a member of the italian collective MicromusicRome HQ.
Nowadays I’m still working on the research of a new 8bit/micromusic sound, trying to mix it up with more modern kind of compositions, presenting more variety in the employment of several instruments and less of game console’s typical sonorities .

Dopo aver suonato come bassista e chitarrista in band locali , ho iniziato ad avere le mie prime sperimentazioni sonore con pedali analogici applicati su un basso elettrico , creando un certo tipo di suono “noise” . Nello stesso periodo nasce il mio interesse per la musica elettronica. Durante il 2003 ho iniziato a produrre musica tekno e partecipato in qualche rave parties nella capitale. Fù il fattore decisivo che mi spinse ad un evoluzione musicale , passando da sonorità hardcore a ritmi electro . Qualche anno dopo , intorno il 2006 , diedi vita ad un nuovo progetto , passando in sonorità ambient-noise cercando di mixxare le tecniche e le sperimentazioni degli anni passati. Nella fine del 2007 ho comprato la mia prima Gameboy Lsdj card ed ho dato vita al mio micromusic project. Tra il 2007 e 2010 ho preso parte in molti 8bit parties in Europa ed entrai a far parte del collettivo MicromusicRome HQ. In questo ultimo periodo sto lavorando alla ricerca di un nuovo sound 8bit/Micromusic , cercando di miscelare al meglio le tecnologie , composizioni e strumentazioni moderne con la cultura e la strumentazione 8bit .

What happens when a guitar/bass player discovers Techno music? And what happens when it goes from Techno to Chiptune, passing through IDM,
Experimental and Dark Ambient? The unpredictable, something we didn’t expect, or at least with these references.
Buskerdroid, from Rome, is considered one of the leaders of this underground movement called Micromusic, a microcosm animated by people who play with old-fashioned videogames, or even with broken and roughly modified toys. Music for few people, of course, since when the man has discovered the 8-bit never-ended passion for Techno, the one that nowadays lives of contaminations, and that changes skin daily, according to its “enviromental” sound. So, Buskerdroid flings himself into territories that the international press prefers to define as Nu Rave, where the quoted Techno music lives with appearences typical of Punk, Electronic Rock, Big Beat and Hardcore. Rave music, then, able to make the crowd dance.

Buskerdroid, is one of the last (not least, obviously, it’s just a matter of age) ones representing this sound born and grown up on the roman shore, sound that must not be confused with the more famous and celebrated “Sound of Rome”.
It’s an easy-listening sound that strongly draws from the last-25-years electronic music, where the straight floor-tom dominates, the powerful basses of the commodore 64 are easily recognizable, and so the typical gameboy sweeps, too. Even if the sound was born maybe more as a soundtrack of some night rave on the beach, it’s sometimes so pop that it can normally be played in a club-dj’s playlist.

Max Durante proposes dancefloor electro-techno tools with his imprinted brand from the very first beats, while Buskerdroid drags the listener away with a catchy nu rave chiptune-flavoured riff.

Cosa accade quando un chitarrista/bassista scopre la Techno? E cosa succede quando dalla Techno passa al Chiptune transitando per IDM, Experimental e Dark Ambient? L’imprevedibile, ossia qualcosa che non ci si aspettava, perlomeno con queste referenze. Buskerdroid, da Roma, è considerato tra i leader del movimento sotterraneo della Micromusic, un microcosmo animato da gente che suona con vecchi videogiochi o addirittura giocattoli scassati e modificati amatorialmente. Musica per pochi, certo, sino a quando l’uomo ad 8 bit ha riscoperto la passione, mai sopita, per la Techno, quella Techno che oggi vive di contaminazioni e che muta pelle quotidianamente, a seconda del suo “contorno” sonoro. Per l’occasione Buskerdroid si fionda in territori che la stampa internazionale ama definire Nu Rave, in cui la citata Techno convive con estetiche del Punk, Electronic Rock, Big Beat ed Hardcore. Musica da Rave, insomma, capace di far ballare le folle.

Buskerdroid, è uno degli ultimi rappresentanti (non per merito, naturalmente, ma per età anagrafica) di questo suono nato e cresciuto sul litorale romano, da non confondere assolutamente con il più noto e celebrato ”suono di Roma”.
E’un suono easy che attinge a piene mani all’elettronica degli ultimi 25 anni nel quale domina la cassa dritta, sono ben riconoscibili i potenti bassi del commodore 64 e gli sweep tipici del gameboy. Anche se il sound nasce forse più come colonna sonora di un rave notturno sulla spiaggia, a tratti è così pop da poter finire tranquillamente nella playlist di un dj da club
